That's a great set, I had a good time with this post. :) I especially appreciate you identifying the blue-berried dogwood for me. Too bad about the orange vespid though (I need to id that one, too!)

I saw loosestrife in Seattle in Discovery park, but I couldn't ascertain whether it was invasive or not. Just a couple individuals--no monocultures.

Glad you enjoyed the post. I'm learning a lot from this plant course so I can have exact IDs more often now. I still have to work on the wasps. I might have another lower quality shot of its front to look at for ID purposes so maybe I can get it to subfamily or genus. I spent a good portion of last night trying to ID a ton of other stuff I'm putting together into a mini "neat stuff in NJ" field guide that will go on a CD.
