  • 00:44 @ jjpdg who what? It is plausible at the second that Obama could win Texas! Amazing and unheard of! #
  • 03:51 @ jjpdg Stupid phone lagging on updates. Now Texas has been given to the GOP. Not shocking but it was fun to think that Texas might be blue #
  • 04:16 With 338 electoral votes when you only need 270, yes Obama WON! #

So... the "Fuck California" part... am I to assume that this is over Prop 8?

If so, do not fret. The case to deny should already be in the system (if not, they are slacking)and it will go all the way BACK to the Cali State Supreme Court, who will then judge it as Unconstitutional, as they just did earlier this year.

So for 2-4 years gays will not have the ability to be as "miserable" as we straights, but their time will come.

Then I will be able to go to the wedding of one of my best friends. I will not be involved in the bachelor party (he was barely able to handle mine.)

Yes, the Fuck Cali was in reference to Prop 8. I'm baffled how that could happen... I mean... Most of the people from California that I've dealt with in person rant about how awesome and forward thinking they are and how all other states are so far behind and below them (then, I question why they want to move to Texas and Austin in particular when all they do is make things more expensive here, if we're so backwards and all) and then this shit happens?
If Prop 8 failed the first time it would have had a beautiful domino effect and more and more states would have fallen in line. Still, it will probably be 2050 by the time Texas catches up, but we're headed in the right direction (Obama almost tied with McCain for Texas... for almost a whole two hours... THAT IS UNHEARD OF!)

There are two Californias. There is Urban California (SFBA and Los Angeles County) and Rural California (everywhere else.)
Urban/Suburban California is progressive and forward thinking. Rural California is scared and frightened by anything new or different. (These are broad generalizations, and ones that can be used for MOST western States).

Rural California is more populous, and will vote scared more often than not.

This is an oversimplification of course, but is born with some truth.

GO back and look at blue/red turnout in the past few elections to find the progressive/regressive voting tendencies in California. They are a near match (200 & 2004)
