so let me get this straight - the smart choices campaign is paid for by packaged-food companies, which - surprise! - then get little "smart choice!" checkmarks on their boxes to show that their stuff is healthy and shoppers should feel good buying it. and no one sees this as a conflict of interest? ok, maybe a bowl of froot loops is a better breakfast than a doughnut, what with all the added nutrients and everything. but if you're in the cereal aisle your choices are between froot loops and cheerios, so the "that checkmark means froot loops are a better choice than a doughnut" line of reasoning is bogus. and people wonder why americans are overweight - it's at least partly because the food industry is getting really good at smokescreening. hmph.
on the plus side, that little girl throwing the ball back on the field is ADORABLE. as is the daily bunny. so cute and fluffy!
good luck with the vocational rehab. hopefully they'll actually be useful.
I *love* the geeky tees. All 202 of them. (I r Linux noob, so the Linux cheat-sheet t-shirt appealed.)
Ugh, Sims and ice-cream sounds like a good idea after that particular appointment (is it just me, or does it sound as though the vocational folks take a rather one-size-fits-all attitude to the situations of the people they're dealing with?), yes. Hopefully they might give a sliver of actual help...
I can see with the eye-tooth implant that it's easier for your body to integrate because it's your own tissue, etc. But how does it even occur to someone to invent that? "How about we put a lens in a tooth and implant it in their eye?" So weird. I'm glad it's working for her, though!
