good news! the elevator is at the moment working. the previous issues were with contractors: one company turned the elevator off and one (or two?) more did the repairs (i know it's ridiculous. i heard it from the landlord. don't worry if it sounds stupid - it is stupid). from what he was saying all the contractors were actually here yesterday, and ( Read more... )

apparently it's some kind of protocol breach, but they both look so sweet and happy. made me smile. <3 And the Queen didn't mind, so. That's the important thing.

It was rather aww-worthy. And I think the Queen's become rather canny at judging at what moment it's best to say "never mind protocol". Heads of state, after all, are human beings too. Human beings who apparently listen to iPods (Obama's given one to the Queen as a gift).

Woot about Sweden. The wheel turns...

Good luck with medical thingummies! *hugs*

That link to the pain sufferers bill of rights is interesting. I see it in myself. For example, today is a fairly good day, so I've been pushing myself - laundry, cleaning my bedroom, and doing dishes. I know I'll pay for it tomorrow, and possibly Saturday as well, but if I *don't* do things when I feel good, it's like nothing gets done and then I'm stuck feeling worthless.

Ugh.

The pain article is a lot to think about. It's important and interesting, but it's also difficult to accept.

yay elevator! yay sweden! i love the first family. the telegraph calling the president "mr obama" cracks me up. it seems more formal than "president obama". also, the first lady hugged the queen! laura bush never could've gotten away with that.

I want to eat your icon.

With a little dish full of kosher salt and a bottle of direly expensive balsamic vinegar.
