Just two clickies today: infecting mosquitoes before they infect us and vampire unearthed in Venice plague grave.

I also managed to find a new buddhist parable in my travels, so there will likely be a reappearance of the monks in the near future.

Right now my mood's pretty good because I'm writing first-person smut.

Have you ever written first-person smut?

It...yeah.

Uh

But such a fic as you describe would most certainly be Epic. ;3 <3

if i haven't (i actually can't remember?) then I'm going to have to ... i can see how that would be. ahem.
i have Ideas for this fic. i actually have a plot device. i've been constructing it in my head for at least part of the day. I don't know whether that's sad, innovative or just plain fucked up. <3

If you have plans to go back to work in a professional setting, I'd advise against putting a tattoo anywhere on your forearms. At least in my area, that's a one-way ticket to either getting turned down for most jobs, or (if you have an understanding employer) wearing long sleeves year-round for the rest of your employment with them...

i have thought about that. in our area the climate is fairly liberal - there are quite a few professionals i've seen with tattoos and/or piercings. i'm sure some things vary by company of course. i'm putting it just below the elbow, so a 3/4 or long sleeve would cover it. thanks for the tip. <3

Aah, that's true - I keep forgetting that Seattle is a very different place from the Deep South. Yeah, you could probably get away with it just fine, then. :P

Glad to hear you weren't stressed about the season, although I've found it to be far below the show's 'regular' quality, and, well, we both know what I'm stressing about. I try not to think about it, or get worked up about what some 'shippers' say, but deep down, I am kind of freaking out about the possibilities of, erm, certain things that I think you know about already. God, I feel like I'm the only one who's losing their brain with crazy worry over this. *tries to calm self* I just want it to be over. =\ *fret fret*

That Antarctica image is very cool. It's not one that would spring to mind when you think of it.

Ooh, a tattoo. Phin, you badass. ;) Looks very pretty. Hope you get some good recommendations so you can get it done in confidence. =) Oh, and I'll second the advice about getting it somewhere less visible for professional reasons.

There were quite a few bits that I was really angry/disappointed about; and I do know exactly how you feel (and don't think I'm not worried about it. <3 I'm less worried than I was before, but considering 'before' was 'avoid most of my friends AND my flist on Mondays and sometimes tuesdays, download but not watch the show, get nauseated Sunday nights and Mondays and actually relieved when the show has an off week because then no one will ask my opinion/there will be nothing and no one i have to avoid/i don't have to tell people how pathetic i am' ... yeah.

> i'm not sure how i feel about that (i think one can be trans/etc and in perfect alignment with one's self/body),

Can you elaborate on that? That sounds like a framing of the idea of "trans" I have not heard of before, and I'm trying to puzzle out what you mean.

(edited for punctuation fail.)
