Oh my gosh. I've wanted to eat a Voodoo donut ever since I saw the Man Vs. Food episode in which he visited Seattle. (Have you ever had the one that looks like a little voodoo doll? It looked pretty tasty.)

Also, seeing the blue dot on the hockey pock just makes me shake my head.

when you go into the main building where the fish guys are there's a bakery right there across from the flower booth? i think it's just called 'pike market bakery' or something absurdly simple like that.

americans do not as a rule know how to make donuts???

I am rather fond of a few varieties from Dunkin' Donuts. Do you have DD out there? I was very disappointed the first time I tried a Krispy Kreme though.

What is a chocolate dip donut? It sounds good.

it's basically a plain non-glazed donut with chocolate on the top. i think the mistake that most american donut places make is that they glaze them by default, which makes them way too sweet.

Yeah, most of the donuts I like are of the non-glazed variety. There's enough calories in the donut already without covering the whole thing with melted sugar.

i was thinking a little more about it and i think that canadians use a yeasted donuts recipe, which makes a lighter donut with a different taste.

I never understood why it's hard to see a black puck against white ice...
There's a website, http://www.canadianfavourites.com, where you can order Canadian food products. Unfortunately donuts aren't one of them.

of course! i'm going to tell you all my secret places to shop for necessities without getting ripped off. <3
although it's funny that you should say that, because the same bakery has something they call 'texas donuts' (i took a picture as proof) that are as big as a dinner plate. <3
