This sounds a lot like "You stutter because you don't get out enough to talk to real people" getting knocked the hell of its pedestal by the speech therapy folks.

Wait. You mean it's possible to know that someone has CP and not get that it will actually, you know, affect the way their body moves? I had to read this post a couple of times to get what you're saying. Seriously.

Oh yeah, it is VERY possible unfortunately - see my comment further down. My parents pulled the same shit on me with my CP that Phinnia's did. Also, despite the fact that both my mother and grandmother were shortsighted and needed glasses and that one of the common problems associated with CP is bad vision, my mother didn't seem to see a problem with the fact that I had to sit on the floor (not easy for me to do) with my face right up to the TV in order to see it. Didn't get glasses till I was TWELVE. And one of the idiot doctors I saw said that my right eye could compensate for my weak left eye. Bollocks it could.
