• Apartment quest: couldn't find the perfect one and got sick of looking. Renewed lease for another year here. Chris's performance review at work is coming up and hopefully I'll find work somewhere in the next year, which should be nice - we can widen our search. Too much up in the air right now and it's not as though we hate it here.

Yes, probably best to stay where you're at for another year. Hope you guys didn't get a huge rent increase.

Rent is now $125 more than it was when we moved in, but they moved the maintenance guy onsite and they're doing a ton of work on the property so I don't mind paying it. I don't mind rent increases if the property managers actually make it seem like what you're paying is actually going somewhere, you know?

Definitely staying local: Chris doesn't have enough seniority yet to where he can work from anywhere ... (I think that's ten years? Maybe it's only five. Something like that, there's a point in time where you can just move anywhere and still keep your job with Uncle Bill's Paint Shop And World Domination R Us, and the benefits are /way/ too good to leave. *laugh* <3
