Apparently mail addressed to Phinnia Meredith WILL actually get here, because I got a letter addressed to Chris and Phinnia Meredith from one of the potential schools (not the really awesome one, our second choice). Is prom this weekend? Many districts don't bother with a full day before prom because it's a hopeless battle. Or it might be a teacher inservice. Because the state requires X days/hours of school a year, if one school is out, all have to be out so they end at the same time. Fun, huh? The worst month for us is February, with presidents day, an inservice, Casimir Pulaski Day and MLK Day. It's nuts.

Edit: on iPod, missed 5/21. Makes perfect insane sense. Memorial Day weekend, parents will be pulling their kids out early anyway to get an early start to wherever they're going. I think our school just cancels the day before Mem Day.

As long as the actual address is correct, mail to any name should get to you. Some mail carriers will be like, "wtf, I've never seen this name before..." and not deliver it, but they're not supposed to do that.

Schools are also staffed with total morons. Hello, kids will be out for the summer and in our hair soon enough. In fact, why don't you keep them a couple of hours longer, hm?
