Bet you a cookie that they'd have failed just as badly if you'd gone with Braille.
And it may be time to raise the stakes by suggesting that their many failures to follow agreed upon rules and so on constitute *systematic* failure to comply with the ADA and whatever other standards they are supposed to adhere to as an entity purportedly "helping" handicapped kids.
As in they could lose their certification. Threatening their funding tends to get people's attention when all else fails.
At the very least it's a good argument for the school district paying for a private school or other alternative placement. They lose funding from that, too, although less. *nods* And yeah, they would have screwed up the braille too, i'm totally certain.
I second this. I don't generally recommend this sort of behavior, but it sounds absolutely warranted in this situation. The gross incompetence of that school is boggling.
I will trade you my lightning rods for your snowshoes. We have rain, rain, and just in case you missed it, MORE RAIN (just now the youngest daughter is down here FREAKING OUT because she said we are having a severe storm according to the weather channel who, by the way, are all on crack and she says she has to stay away from windows) anyway we already have had a huge flood that actually killed somebody and here we go again. I will take your snow.
I have to go to the school probably tomorrow to have a conf. with said daughter's teacher. She is apparently becoming a trouble-maker. DO NOT WANT!!
See, rain is okay here. We're used to rain. <3 It does that a lot. No one can drive in it, but then, no one can drive in any weather here. Snow is a problem partly because of the hills, and partly because it turns into slush and/or black ice almost immediately, and mostly because it snows so rarely that they don't know how to deal with it and everyone falls into a panic.
fdjasi;ovhjua;oegjjjjjjjjjbvleiuthagjerlugyaerih That shit about mothers and whatnot. Yeah, one of the reasons why I don't want to be one, aside from the actual pregnancy and childbirth (seriously, scares the living shit out of me). But all those gender expectations that just won't go away. fjadio;hvnuailefj;f
the 'just this once' excuse used over and over again as an excuse for not following instructions/accomodations (somehow people have failed basic math and don't realize that an infinite number of 'just this once's is still an infinite number no matter how many pretty little ribbons you tie on it)
In fact, any number of "just this once"s over one -- well.
I'm sorry things are driving you crazy, and hope something comes up to leaven it all a bit.
