Cobra Raven. Cobra Raven. There's no haven from the Cobra Raven.

Man, toy commercials in the eighties were extremely cheesy. Still, I always wanted this bad boy. After all, it has a drop down cockpit!

I never had any of the larger G.I. Joe toys. I had several smaller ones, and a few of the mid-size pieces, but never any of the giant monstrosities ( Read more... )

I had the Raven (and most of the other toys up til Snake Eyes came with a pet wolf). Thing about the Raven was it was pretty fragile, my little brother broke it within a day of assembly.

He broke a number of my toys over the years. Everything from GI Joe to Mask and Transformers.

Hm... Never was into GI Joe as a child, myself... my brother and sister had a lot of GI Joe action figures, but I never had any myself. (Might have been simply a matter of age; my brother and sister are only about three years younger than I am, but that might have been just enough for them to be in the target age range when GI Joe was big, and me not to be...)

Now, Masters of the Universe, yeah, that I was into as a child. And Star Wars action figures, of course, even more so. (My favorite action figure? Hammerhead. Yeah, the alien that shows up for about half a second in the Creature Cantina.) Though I think my favorite toy as a child was LEGOs...

Hammerhead is an awesome figure. And the pistol he came with -- I want to say it was the same as Han's -- and the way he held it was great.

That's a LJ entry right there! You should grab that text and share with others.

I remember playing with way too many G.I. Joe toys as a kid. There were about seven of us in the neighborhood with collections so whenever we got together we'd have a huge army.

I'm trying to decide which G.I. Joe toy was my favorite one. I'll have to poke around online and remind myself of what I even had.

I've got the five collections of the Marvel comic (issues 1-50). Damn shame that they stopped there and didn't keep issuing collections; I would have bought the entire run if they hadn't stopped.

The issue where Joes are killed -- 108, I think -- was horrible but still stands out in my mind.
