What you've done with this chapter is very nice, Simon really is Vorkosigan's man now. And I loved Simon's conscience getting the upper hand at last, and the ikon turning up again, just beautiful. And Aral's anger... really, I don't have words to convey the way you've captured the sheer awesomeness of Aral in this fic.

Capturing Aral's awesomeness is a major part of this fic--Illyan's not going to fall in loyalty with anyone less awesome, after all. And as you see the ikon got a bit more play in this final draft - one of the nice things about posting this way is that I can see what works, and the ikon evidently did.

But mostly I was just going 'Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh' throughout. I want to take both of them aside and tell them that everything will work out, that they will find happiness and a kind of peace, though the getting there will be . . . a bit rough.
