but that silence falling could mean the Silence will fall (i.e. die) and that *that* would be bad for Earth in some as yet unforeseen way. If that makes any sense? A little twist, indicating their necessary part played in the course of human history.
I would very much like this to be the case, if only because I found the way the Silence were defeated to be a bit of a let down and it would be nice if the Doctor's solution actually made things worse. The past two episodes seem to be trying to take things in a more complex direction so I have hope!
And they brought up Rory's time as a Roman soldier again as well as the fall of the Roman Empire, which is all starting to seem like a hint toward that interpretation of "fall." *nods* There's got to be something more to it, and no way that can be the end of the Silence. Their defeat was all too easy, especially given the build-up (possibly all the way back to "Silence in the Library"?).
