Knitting night was fun! The girls came over with toiletry donations and knitting supplies, and we snacked on cheese & crackers and mini-quiche while gabbing and working on projects.

So, I watched "Waitress" on Monday night and "The Namesake" last night. I loved Waitress... it was very sweet- had just the right balance of comedy and melancholy. Namesake was also good, but I felt as though it was rushed along. That's the downside of reading the book, I guess. I always get disappointed when they cut things out or change my favorite parts of the story. The man who plays his father was, indeed, very good, but I thought the acress who played his mother was even better. She should have gotten a nom.

Don't worry about the independent spirit noms--they're small potatoes in the acting world compared to the oscars(sorry, indies, but it's true).

I thought Waitress was just ok, but I prefer darker movies. I just returned eXistenZ (I didn't even finish it--I just wasn't in the mood) so I should get The Namesake soon. It's been awhile since I read the book, so I probably won't notice the differences much. As soon as I see it, we'll trade notes!

Oh--one more thing . . . have you had a chance to look at the December 25 stuff yet?

Yeah, I forwarded the email on to Rachel. We're going to discuss it tonight because she and Mark really want to do a project with me. I'll let you know which one we decide on.
