Weekend in Jersey

Trip home was busy, but good. I took a 6:00 train Friday and was home in time to watch most of the Phillies game with my parents. It's the time of year where my mother REALLY starts to get antsy and yells at the TV a lot. And also asks every five seconds, "How are the Mets doing?" Yes, I come by my mania in both directions

What's the back story of how they knew her?

They worked in a jewelry store, and she worked there part time between auditions. They described her as "one of the nicest people on earth." She apparently also got rid of her schlub of a husband, which they strongly approved of.

I made a grown-up version of that hat; it turned out very blue and pretty. For the life of me, I can't remember how a provisional cast on went, but it couldn't have been that hard, as I figured it out after a few months of knitting. That was my I'm-going-to-learn-to-cable-goddamnit project. I think the biggest pain in the ass was picking up the stitches on the side of the cabled band...getting the right number and getting them somewhat evenly spaced. I think I was more OCD than truly necessary...

LOL--I get very zen when it comes to picking up stitches. I've done that a bunch with other projects and practicing entrelac.

I know I have instructions for the provisional cast on somewhere . . .

They're all people I hang out with otherwise, so it made sense for me to play along. :)
