Author's Notes: First time I’ve posted to
ncisdrabble100, please yell if I’ve done something wrong. Yes, I know that it is an odd pairing, but since Requiem I’ve become slightly obsessed with the idea of DiNozzo and Maddie Tyler getting together. Yeah, I don’t understand it myself.
He stops running as he hits the terminal. He can see her, standing next to Gibbs in the impossibly long TSA line. He got there before she’d gone through security; before she’s gone from his reach; before she’s on a plane back to Oaklyn.
Perhaps, out of all the stupid ideas he’s ever had, this is the most momentously stupid. Then she laughs, her hand raking through her golden curls, and he knows that he’s finally done something smart.
He’s running again, his Italian loafers sliding to a stop between her and Gibbs. Her eyelids blink a thousand questions as she looks up at him. They didn’t need to speak, a slow smile spreading over each of their faces like a compact florescent bulb shuttering as it lights.
He slides his hands into her hair; his nails scraping lightly against her scalp making her sigh with pleasure. He lowers his lips to hers, but before they touch his lips move in one steady word, “Stay.”
Her pink lips smirk, “Since you asked so nicely.”
Their lips meld in an ardent kiss and he knows that Gibbs is going to smack him for kissing Gibbs’ daughter’s best friend. He doesn’t care.
