The first time Don Eppes had met Dr. Fleinhardt he had instantly disliked him. Why? He didn’t like the way his brother talked about him. He didn’t like that Charlie didn’t complain when Dr. Fleinhardt called him Charles. He didn’t like that his mother invited him to dinner. He didn’t like that Dr. Fleinhardt could talk to his brother in a way that he’d never been able to. Most importantly he didn’t like the fact that his brother looked at Dr. Fleinhardt with the same worshipping eyes that previously had been reserved for him. No, Don didn’t like his replacement.

Thanks for bringing this up. I've sometimes wondered whether Don resented Larry's place in Charlie's (and his family's) life.

It would be only human if he didn't like Charlie's transfer of hero-worship from him to Larry.

Thank you. I'm glad that you can also see where Don and Larry might not have gotten along. In the first season both Larry and Don seemed rather cool towards one another, but that was gone in season two. Wish there had been more about that in the show.

you are so right- we can SEE that Don kinda resents larry in season 1 shows- but he knows that larry is there for charles and yeah- he wanted to be close to charles- I think it is to Larry's credit that he just kept right along NOT trying to come between the brothers BUT yet keeping his own place with charles. I also think that Don has grown to respect Larry and even to like him a LOT- he knows how much larry means to charles and he NOW knows his OWN place and how much he means to chalres also---- I like that the relaionship between those two have progressed so nicely-- that is what is so awesome about Numbers- the characters evolve and grow
