it stacks up well - it's almost as if ALL their previous albums are all rolled into one on this... kind of a natural progression for them. it even has keyboards and some acoustic on it. i cringed when i heard about that, but it works well. all in all, i'd have to say that after 1 1/2 listens, i already like it better than pure rock fury. and i dig that album a lot. in my opinion this one is the heaviest to date (for the most part). damn.
Awesome. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. I need to listen to Pure Rock Fury again. I know that I like some of the songs. But i remember that I liked Elephant Riders better. That one is my favorite. I'll check out the new one, though.
the fourth song is already my favorite... it's cypress grove. damn. it's a definite cruising song.
the modest mouse is good too - although they sound like they are trying to be the flaming lips now. the last song on the disc was actually produced by the flaming lips...

Thanks for the heads up.
P.S. How does Blast Tyrant compare to Pure Rock Fury? As in, are they similar? Is it like any album, or is it off on its own.
