bus route?

Jul 06, 2005 12:36

Okay, so Ive never really taken public transportation before having just moved to the city. I have a job interview tomorrow in center city and dont feel like finding parking or biking in my interview clothes.
So I live in South Philly (8th and Mifflin) and need to get to 22nd and Walnut.
Can anyone tell me what I should take?
Thanks.

too lazy to use google, septa

I don't know off hand but visit www.septa.com and use the "plan my trip" thingy. That works for me.

I just did a similar commute in reverse. If you catch the 47 up to Walnut, you can take any of the westbound busses and get off at 22nd. They all run fairly frequently.

Do what blackbriar said, but know that you should have a token (for the first leg of the journey--otherwise it's $2) plus 60 cents (for a transfer to the 12, 21, 42, or 9) when you get on the bus.

south philly sales locations here:
http://www.septa.org/fares/sales_locations/south_phila.html Looks like the 10th/Passyunk Acme or the check cash at 8/Snyder are closest to you, at my quick glance.

There's a bus that runs along 7th (northbound) and 8th (southbound) (the 47?); there are also various busses running west along Walnut (definitely the 21 and 42; the 12 runs on Walnut for a while but I don't know if it goes that far west; there might be others). So walk to 7th and Mifflin and take the bus to Walnut; change buses at 7th and Walnut (you'll know you're there because that's Washington Square, which is big and green) and get a westbound bus to 22nd.

Walk to Broad street, catch the C bus, get off on Walnut, then catch ANY bus going up Walnit street, get off on 22nd street, and that's it!!
