Swallows and Amazons at the Liverpool Playhouse

Jane and I went to Liverpool last night to see the new musical with book by Helen Edmundson and music by Neil Hannon, Swallows and Amazons. It started at the Bristol Old Vic and is on tour at the moment.

I entirely agree!! We don't need to go back to the, "Children should be seen but not heard" days, but parents should realise that not everyone wants to hear their little darlings all the way through a play/film/bus-ride/event.

I get that kids are kids and not always predictable, but a parent should know roughly how their child will handle most experiences.

Ahh well, it was only a few minutes out of a 2hr performance, I shouldn't complain too much…

I think in a way we should complain! You obviously paid money for those tickets and you wanted to be able to hear the dialogue without interruption. I've had rants at home recently about children on the tube: in my day, childen always were trained to give up their seats for any adult. Recently on the tube I've seen adults giving up their seats for (healthy, well able to stand) children. Madness!
