What fun, I loved the epilogue. Angst be good!

By the way, I've called the People for the Ethical Treatment of Trees about you.

Angst be good!

Yes...I think so! Too bad more of my friends don't agree w/you!

*glances around suspiciously waiting for PETT to jump out*

Let's just hope they don't find out what I do at Christmas!

Thanks for the comment!

Actually, this one's been written for some time...was never happy w/the second chapter and still am not, but oh well! Figured if it was ever going to see the public, it needed to do so soon.

Thanks for reading! See ya around.

Oooo, I saw this earlier today on a mailing list, but you know me and my mailing list issues, so I didn't feedback then, but...

This is lovely. Yay! Even the angst at the end has some hope to it, which is, IMO, the best way to end a g/e fic. :)

Plus, hot. Mmmmm.

Wonderful.

Yeah...I like to leave my poor characters a chance to have some good resolution...even if I personally am not going to be the one to give it to them!

Glad you approved ;^)

And yeah, I know what you mean about the mailing list...so much easier to leave LJ comments. Wanted to wait to post this until I knew more ppl would be on however *L* I'm selfish like that.

This was very well done! I can't resist that magic/sex combination, and your version was definitely inventive, not to mention hot and intense; though I too was experiencing sympathy pains for the tree (-: This was an interesting take on the G/E relationship, and the possible reasons for it. It's not a pairing I read much so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but I enjoyed this view of it, set in a time before everything went so horribly wrong. Made me sad for them, but angst, angst is good. Your writing is vivid, as always, I especially enjoyed your descriptions of the tree, the magical connection Giles was feeling with it and the earth. I could practically smell the soil. Oh, and the clear sense of danger if the ritual went wrong, great way to up the tension. Is this fic set before Ethan started worshiping chaos? I'm assuming it is, but please correct me if I'm wrong. The ending was very bittersweet, with a little extra bitter, but it felt right to leave them there, poised on the edge of ( ... )

*L* Me too...it was almost a 3rd character, wasn't it?

Very glad it worked for you...was afraid the writing might be a bit heavy in parts...

And *L* Yes. You know I'm a lover of the angst and the danger...

Is this fic set before Ethan started worshiping chaos? I'm assuming it is, but please correct me if I'm wrong.A very good question...hard to say and I hadn't really thought of it myself. What exactly is and is not chaos magic? I guess it depends on where you draw that line. I really don't...so maybe the beginnings of chaos magic? Before it really got to be more than Ripper could handle? Certainly if Ethan was into it at that point so was Ripper ( ... )

I enjoyed this a lot. Very nice look at Ethan, sympathetic and yet also true to character. Also I like how you look at Giles' inherent shyness and use it within the story.

Also, two of my favorite stories are Giles/tree; this is the first time I've seen them in a threesome, however. Nice idea. *wink*

Thanks! Happy to hear my Ethan worked...haven't written him before, so wasn't really sure on my approach to his character.

Giles/tree, eh? That sounds...er, promising? *gr* You do have a thing for odd pairings, don't you? Mind if I ask where these fics are?

*LOL at the icon, btw*

Your Ethan felt very true to me.

They're my crack. It is my life-long goal to get placed in the Other category at ODD one of these days.

Mind if I ask where these fics are?
Woodst Thou Love Me Forever by Jay Kayelle (who actually writes a lot of funny things) and
The Waking by Mad Poetess. Beautiful, beautiful story!

And thanks for the comment about my icon! I was rather proud of that when I made it. I wish this one looked better...
