Hi - I am afraid I rather dimly don't really know what you are asking!
If you want to sing a song *yourself* and upload it, then I think that would be okay.
If you want to upload a remix of a song that's still the original recording, or a remix of a computer game that's still the original game (OCREMIX had lots of games on it....) then I think that verges into illegal doesn't it and we'd have to say no as 'no music uploads' is one of our rules...
But I am MOST LIKELY not really understanding what you would like to do so please do feel free to correct me, and forgive me for being so dim as to not get it!
This video incorporates "Deadly Promises" a fan remix of the song ("remix", I realize, is a confusing choice of words, as it may connote the usage of samples from the original piece, but generally in this sense it does not; professional game composers have made fan remixes of songs--Jeremy Soule [Guild Wars, Morrowind and Icewind Dale among others] also did a mix of Terra's theme called "Squaresoft Variation.")
Generally remixes of this sort fall in that legal grey area that companies turn a blind eye to in much the same way they do fanart and fiction. I can see where this can get iffy because, say, slapping a techno beat on an original recording won't cut it...but the idea of the fan remix is not the same as posting an FST of commercial top 40 hits, either.
I think if it isn't using samples from the original piece, then it's fine, so if I have understood that much right....?
(going to sleep now, so hope that was helpful - will answer any more questions tomor. Also thank you for taking the time to ASK first and with being so patient with me quizzing you. You are ideal challenge joiner inner and I thank you!)
I think I'm having an idiot moment. Can I choose to write something based on a request without posting ten things of my own? So essentially all I might be contributing is a prompt based fic.
