I LOVE CAS SFM. I feel like he's the only reasonable character anymore. You can't do anything without Dean complaining, and Sam's evil or whatever, idk. Cas is just to-the-point and a fucking genius compared to Sam n Dean. I really really wish Cas was a main character. It'd just be so much more enjoyable. I really liked this episode.
I got down on my knees and praised Jesus that Edlund wrote Cas's return ep. I knew he wouldn't let me down.
CAS WAS SO FREAKING AMAZING AND PISSY AND BAMF AND EVERYTHING I EVER WANTED. In one episode you got a real sense of where he is emotionally and what his life has been like post-apocalypse. And I totally get it and can make sense of it all. It was refreshing after the total disconnect I've been experiencing with Dean.
*ahem* PROFOUND BOND.
And then? And then Cas/Balth were even shinier and more awesome that I ever could have hoped.
And wait, what? I'm not the only one that likes New!Sam? He interests me and intrigues me a lot more than Dean currently does. Which gives me a sad, but is the truth.
It's gonna take me forever to come down from this squee.
BEN EDLUND SHOULD WRITE EVERY CAS EPISODE. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.
I thought the show was going to take forever explain Cas's motivations, but this episode did it in a way that didn't feel rushed. I love Cas so much, and I was so glad to see that he didn't just lose everything he'd gained while on earth.
And I don't even know what to think about Dean right now. Jensen was right--he has gotten rather soft. It's so weird.
I was so worried that Balthazar was going to be utterly unlikeable, but he wasn't! :D I still have to figure out how I see Cas/Bal, but I know I ship them.
I know! XD New!Sam is so fascinating. It's like a mystery. I wanna know what's up. Dean is such a disappointment at the moment, and it doesn't have much to do with domesticity as it does his... He lost something in that year. There's an edge missing.
I think S6 Cas is going to be a bit like S4 Cas in that he's very strong-willed and angelic, but still lost and wondering if what he's doing is the right thing, and he'll also be like S5 Cas in that he has that connection with humanity, so while he'll go out and do things that need to be done, he'll hurt because of it.
I am also looking forward to how Cas and Dean maneuver around how they've changed.
I can't wait to see Balthazar again. If I can't have Gabe back, I'll take this guy. XD
That's my problem with Dean, too, plus I tend to be a lot more heartless than Dean. I would have tortured the kid, too, because it was the best way to get this information. It saved the kid's soul in the end, and I think that it was worth it. Dean obviously doesn't agree.

And Cas really does need his own show. Cas, Balthazar, and Meg. Or Crowley. Or both, IDK. XD

But at least there's still Cas and Bal. XD
