Gabriel nods, eyebrows rising. “Fair enough,” he says, rubbing his hands together. He spreads his hands out before him. “Let me put it this way,” he begins, and walks slowly back and forth across the room. “What do you think would happen if my brothers-either of my brothers-found me?”

Sam blinks a few times, brows furrowing. “Uh, they’d try to recruit you?”

“Exactly!” Gabriel says, pointing a finger at Sam. “And when I turn them down…?”

Sam glances awkwardly to the side. “Zachariah would either brain wash you or have blown up, and Lucifer would trap you in a ring of holy oil and leave you for the demons.”

Gabriel’s hand lowers, and he shoots Sam a bewildered look. “That’s… oddly specific.”

Sam shrugs. “Cas isn’t the most-liked Angel in the world right now.”
