[There's a girl wandering the darkened woods tonight, looking weary and very much lost. She's limping a little as she walks, hugging herself against the night chill and trying to calm herself down enough to hear over her heartbeat pounding in her ears

[Kurt has spent a lot of nights up on the top of building seven, just watching over the village. Maybe it makes him feel like Batman. Or maybe it just is something he can do when he's lonely. On this particular night, however, he thinks he spots someone stumbling home from the woods. Is that who he thinks it is?]

[phasingly]

It's like...we're X-men, you know? We're supposed to be able to handle stuff like this, not sit around wondering who's about to be next, or what they're going to do to us.

[onebluebamf]

I know, but... it's not just us. They do it to everyone. [He goes quiet for a moment.] After you were taken, that guy in charge, the blue one? He put a mission together to try and stop the kidnapping.

[phasingly]

[She perks up at that.]

That Malnosso guy? I thought they were the ones who did the kidnappings in the first place.

[onebluebamf]

It's all kind of confusing. I guess there's these... other Malnosso that do it without his permission. Either way, these other ones kidnapped fifteen people at a time. So he sent a bunch of people to rescue them. I even volunteered! You know, since maybe you would be there too.

[He shakes his head though.]

But I wasn't compatible. [Which just makes him annoyed.]

[phasingly]

They sent people to rescue us? [She shakes her head, which doesn't really help with the lightheadedness. Oh well.] If they managed to get in, I never saw it. I was pretty drugged then, but I think I would remember that.

[onebluebamf]

[He just shakes his head.]

I don't know. Maybe there was just another place or it was all a set up. [Either way, he was forced to sit back and wait.]

[phasingly]

I guess there's no way to tell for sure, unless no one else gets kidnapped. But every time I think about it, I just don't know if we can trust them.

[onebluebamf]

I don't think the professor would either. But if the Malnosso are really against each other... I think he'd have us work with the lesser of two evils. [Or something. It would be easier of Scott was here. He always knows what to do.]

[phasingly]

[Seriously. She'd give anything for the Professor to be here, or Scott, or heck, even Logan would be great to have around right about now.

...Okay, scratch that part. They're not that desperate.]

But how can we know if he's even telling the truth?

[onebluebamf]

[He sighs.]

I don't know.

[phasingly]

[She rests her head back down on the arm of the couch with a bit of drama.]

I just wish it wasn't all so confusing.

[onebluebamf]

[He slumps back in his chair.]

Kind of makes you miss dealing with the Brotherhood every other week.

[phasingly]

Yeah, at least those losers were so obvious about everything.

Yeah, well, with Toad and Blob, how could they not be?

[phasingly]

Seriously. I don't think those guys even know what subtle means.

[She stretches out on the couch, trying to relieve her sore muscles, then snuggles back down again with a sigh. Her body's telling her to try falling asleep again, but her mind's just happy to just talk to Kurt like this. It's comforting.]
