The gundam pilot was hesitant to do as the voice had instructed, but after spending a few hours cooling his heels around the garden and doing a reasonable ammount of exploring, he complied with the computer's wishes and followed the lights down the corridors. Finally, he reached his destination, passing through the automatic scifi style doors and walking briskly down the steps.

What River had done prior to heeding the incessant flashing lights was a mystery to everyone but her - or perhaps it wasn't a mystery at all. Was there anything mysterious about it? It didn't matter; what did was that she had padded barefoot into the 'auditorium' of sorts, large eyes settling upon the wavering blue-green light hovering in the middle of the room. Blue, blue. Everything was blue. Everything she breathed and ate and everything that breathed her and ate her was bl ( ... )

Duo looked at her and back at what he was doing, pressing buttons on a holographic keyboard and getting no results, before snapping his attention back at her. Whoa, okay. She darn well snuck up on him, which doesn't really happen all that often. Pretty though, in an odd sort of way. Alright, he'll bite.

"Might just be wise to oblige em.. Just this once."

What was he hoping to discover? It was going to be fruitless until It spoke to them. River lifted her head, letting her eyes find his.

"Obligation is unnecessary," she said matter-of-factly. "The implications of surrendering yourself to the will of aesthetic illumination in this case seem to outweigh the potential benefits." A half-smile, almost distant, as if she weren't really smiling at him. "It might make you do it twice."

One of the pods, following the first batch of newcomers; Patient #I-4467 blinks open his eyes and glances around blearily to find that he is not surrounded by the familiar white walls of his padded cell. He also realizes that he's drooled on himself a bit (entirely the fault of that dose of Haldol which is finally wearing off) and promptly wipes his chin with his hand, then wipes said hand on the front of his standard issue institution garb. He's sitting alone sprawled on the floor with his back against a wall when the door facing him slides open of its own volition to reveal a large stretch of hallway decorated with flashing lights. Since when could Arkham afford such a splurge to install something this fancy? The question answers itself: Never! Evidently we're not in Kansas anymore, Chelsea ( ... )

A small zap surged through the platform which the joker was touching it, and a panel screened with instructions to properly operate the device. Instructions that clearly stated not to touch hardware, so to speak.

A holographic keyboard appeared in front of him, as well as his mugshot, a image of Gotham city as Drake might remember it and Arkham Asylum. The ring, in the center of the display stood how now as the computer clarified where these things were on the ring, as well as began the automated tour of the complex.

Well what do ya know, the unexpected shock works like a charm...this time. The Joker yanks his hands away from the platform like it's a hot stove and gives them a little shake, movements still a bit slow from the meds. His mind and his eyes, however, are sharp as knives. Above the fancy hologram display he notices a blue ring stationed there like the eye of a watchful camera and peers curiously up at it, brow quirked. But his attention is quickly diverted when images begin appearing on the display.

Having noted his name and photo, he looks pointedly at the hologram, eyes glancing once more at the blue ring above. There's a question hot on his lips; it's obvious by the twitch of his jaw and the way he's holding up one finger, but he waits just long enough for the automated explanation to finish, if only because he knows the information will become useful later on.

"Who else is here?" Direct question. He doesn't bother with the keyboard yet and looks around, waiting to see how or if his query is answered.

The direct question was answered swiftly, with six other images just like his, listed with their names and basic physical stats: Tim Drake, Cissie King-Jones, Duo Maxwell, Elisa Maza, River Tam and Leonard McCoy. They appear parallel to Joker's stats, but there were a few other images as well, though faded, as if they weren't completely 'downloaded', or perhaps corrupted some how.

Tim flinched slightly as the computer said his name out loud. So much for the plan to keep Robin and Tim Drake as separate as possible. Damn it. He reached out a little and took Cissie's hand, drawing her away from the gathering crowd around River.

"Hey," he said quietly, giving her a small smile. "How are you doing?"

Cissie let Tim lead her off to the side, squeezing his hand. She smiled back at him and shrugged a shoulder. "I'm all right." She glanced back at the display, her smile fading. "Well--as all right as any of us," she added wryly. "Confused."

She shook her head a little and turned her attention back to Tim, reaching up to hug him. It had been a while since she'd seen him; the chaos in Gotham had been keeping him busy, and she worried about him. It was good to see and feel that he was still in one piece. "Missed you," she murmured. "Are you okay?"

He hugged her back tightly. "I'm confused, too," he admitted. "I have no idea what's going on here, and..." he made a disgruntled noise at the back of his throat. "A little annoyed. The display thing." He shook his head and pressed his cheek against the side of her head. "Missed you, too. It's been... a really long few weeks. I'm sorry I haven't had much time."

She leaned against him and sighed. "I wish I knew what's going on," she muttered sadly. She frowned, tightening her arms around him. "Yeah. I didn't love that display, either."

At his apology, she turned her head and kissed his shoulder before settling back against him again. "It's okay. You've been... really busy." Which was possibly the understatement of the year. Without thinking, she admitted softly, "I worried about you."

Elisa frowned again, watching the various little bits of information being presented about herself, briefly examining the other screens, her business exterior breaking briefly when River has her panic attack. But she'll trust her to the best doctor in any universe, as far as she's concerned.

"Great," she muttered at the computer's explanation. "Just what I need in my life. One more person using me like a pawn."

Duo watched the girl and the doctor for a few minutes, mild concern for the girl who was around his age. It was weird, but he kinda got the same heebie jeebies when he saw the base. The same place he had just escaped from, stolen his mobile suit back. Then he heard the winged woman's remark.

"Singin' to the choir, Lady."

She nods slightly in his direction.

"Make it Elisa. We're all stuck in this together; we might as well be on a first name basis."

He snored a wry laugh at he 'implication of teamwork.' Seemed she was a big group orientated woman, and granted, so was he, but the way she phrased it..

"Okay Elisa.." He said. "I'm Duo." He held a hand out to shake. "You know my next question?" His lips turned up in a mildly amused smirk.

Dick had followed the flashing lights into the room after lingering a bit in the courtyard to take in the strange surroundings. The stars were all wrong, come to think of it he started to wonder if they really were stars after a bit of observation. Soon though he found himself in what appeared to be a conferance room straight out of the return of the jedi, Wally would have loved this place. It was very interesting, and he would have loved to see how things worked, but he couldn't stay here. Gotham was going to pieces back home, bruce was dead..gone for good this time and left no one to take up the cowl after he took the great leap so to speak. He had to find whoever brought him here and try and get through to them --or it-- that he couldn't stay here, not with everything going to hell ( ... )

Tim glanced up sharply from his conversation with Cissie at the sound of his name on a familiar voice. "Dick?" he asked, frowning a little in surprise. "What are you..." His voice trailed off.

No. Dick couldn't be here. He was supposed to be in Gotham. Damn it--one of them needed to be there. He cursed. "Not that I'm not happy to see you, Dick..." he said slowly coming closer to him so he could give him a hug. "But... you really shouldn't be here."
