Toph scowled, the sun feeling too hot on her face. Where the heck was she? Where the heck was this?

She rolled off the rock she was laying on, bare feet crunching on rounded river rocks, and took a "look" at her surroundings. There was water running nearby, and trees, and some small creatures wandering about. Some much bigger ones near the lake just at the edge of her "vision."

"Where the heck is this?" She reached up to brush her hair out of her face. It felt sticky and gross. Stupid sun. Stupid place!

With a resigned sigh, Toph started walking.

Ever observational, it didn't take Duo long to see the non reptile/bird/insect wandering closer to the lake. That was a human being alright, but was the kid a local?

"Hey..!" he started over to the girl, waiting until he was a wee bit closer before raising his voice. "Hey kid!"

"Wuh? Oh, hey." She hadn't noticed the other human. Damn. But now she changed her direction, and walked towards him.

One of the little creatures nipped at her ankle; she kicked it away without stopping. If they got too annoying, she'd definitely teach them a lesson.

"Ahh.. Heh." Yeah, hey, I'm from the future, me Duo, you? That wasn't going to work here, was it? Hell, that never worked.

How about this. "Uh, you get ported here too? Just woke up here, last thing I remember I was ... " Well he couldn't REALLY remember that, considering last thing he was doing was seeing giant death monsters trying to kill him.

"At the complex. Under the city. How about you?"

Iroh was beginning to wonder if waking up in a strange place without remembering how he got there was going to become a feature of his life.

Not that he hadn't woken up in strange places without remembering how he had gotten there before, but quite frankly, at his age, those days were supposed to be long over.

Still, this valley was a more pleasant place to be than the one he had found himself in before, with the sterile white walls and strange machinery. Iroh took the opportunity to soothe his anxieties about his absence from the Four Nations by enjoying the clear view of the stars, and the fresh breeze that blew along the riverside, which he walked during the day, on the principle that if there were other people in this country, they would be near fresh, running water. It was a tactic that had not failed him yet, and if there were any humans to be found, he believed it would not fail him now.

And it didn't. Once again, Iroh woke up in the ring and a banished prince came to him.

There was some rustling in the plants behind the old[er] man that gave Ashitaka away. The prince recognized him already and wasn't trying to hide. When he got the man's attention, he bowed his head down briefly. "How long have you been here?" he cut to the chase.

"Ashitaka." A familiar face so far away from anything that could be called familiar. Would wonders never cease? "Hello. Not long at all - a little more than a day." He bowed, beaming pleasantly. "I don't suppose you could tell me how I got here . . . ?"

He smiled "No more than I can tell how I got here." he stepped forward. "Are you hurt at all? We have a small group four of us. We have a camp a little ways away. Follow me." Ahsitaka turned on his heels, motioning for the old general to join him.
