Dante was there, literally, in a flash. It took him longer to get outside and figure out which direction he was headed in than it did for him to actually travel to the spot. Of course, it would have been simpler if he knew how to use the teleportation grid. But it was technological, not magical, and he was more at a loss about it than anything else in this world.

Instead he used a Devil Trigger state to travel at the speed of light--literally. As a lightning demon he could do that. It seemed a waste of energy, but Dante wasn't concerned with that sort of thing.

When he arrived from above he could see Sherry standing where she indicated with precision even as he moved so quickly. His eyesight was exceptional. So were all his senses. He fled to a nearby building rooftop in the blink of an eye, no more in the air than for a mere second or two, barely enough time for a human to register the freak bolt of lightning that was in actuality himHe easily hopped off the roof and made it over to the blond. That was her, right? He could only ( ... )

Sherry was anything but human though. She had looked up with the light flash and was watching him as he walked up.

There was a scent about him that she couldn't place, exotic... When he spoke though she did smile at him. "Okay, when you said you'd be here quickly, I was expecting ten minutes, not twenty seconds."

Stepping away from the wall she ran her hand through her short blond hair. "Thank you for coming though. I'm going to feel foolish if this is nothing." There was a small blush on her cheeks.

"Hey, when I say I'm quick--I mean quick," he said, stopping his stride to strike a pose that held out both hands in front of him and then pointed back to indicate himself. He had that cocky smirk that grew into a cocky smile while he said it. He started forward again to get at a reasonable distance. "Wouldn't want to disappoint the ladies."

That probably sounded more corny than anything else but obviously Dante didn't care because he was still grinning like a little school boy in a por--er, candy shop. He stopped at a safe distance, a reasonable couple of feet good for talking but not invading personal space.

"It's not a problem. Like I said, monsters are my specialty. Besides, been boring 'round here without anything to hunt. This'll be exciting."

She almost giggled. The cockiness that rolled from him wasn't a false bravado, which only made her want to laugh more, but she behaved.

Catching his mental image she shook her head. He was a lot like a few of the guys she worked with with the company.

"Even monsters that hunt like humans? Because this one has human intelligence... just not the reasoning. It was created to kill. I don't know if it has a target or not. Ones with targets are worse. They won't stop until they have it." She was about to say more when she caught a glimmer from it. "Down that street." She pointed down the street she was facing. "Shit... Lost it again."
