Ashitaka was making rounds, fishing for new people again. Once again he caught one. Surely, he was better at catching the 'newly phased' than he was at catching actual fish.

He homed in on the telltale confusion and aimless wandering of the new person. It was in coming closer that the prince noticed this person was not like the others he had assisted. This man... he seemed much more collected and prepared than the others had. His clothes didn't look in any way familiar but then again, neither did any of the others'. But he seemed more on top of things, was this place like his own world? he had met people who came from civilizations akin to The Ring so...

"Hello." he said anyway, "Are you new here?" if this man was, indeed, a person used to this kind of place... Ashitaka doubted his ability to offer help. But he would certainly attempt just the same.

Kirk had his phaser pointed at Ashitaka. He didn't feel danger but that didn't mean there would be no danger. He did lower the phaser just a bit, trying not to appear offensive, but not willing to deny any possibility either.

"Hello," Kirk returned. "I am new here. Where is it?" His voice was amicable, but not without guard.

Hmm, yep this was a 'technical' person alright. Already asking the questions Ashitaka felt were on-par with his abilities... When his questions inevitable got harder... he may have to simply refer him to someone else.

"This place is called 'The Niven Ring' so I am told, it is a massive space station capable of replicating and transferring worlds. You were chosen by the computer, for reasons beyond all of us. I am Ashitaka and I am here... well, I guess I am here to welcome you." he smiled at the end, having repeated the mantra one of his more technologically hip friends had coined.

Kirk took in the information and then lowered his phaser completely, but did not put it away. Ashitaka did not seem a threat but he couldn't remember a time that a controled by a computer world didn't come with some threats.

The captain looked around, taking in his surroundings more, looking out beyond the pod room. "Do you know where this computer exists?" Kirk's eyes returned to Ashitaka. "I can't stay here forever."

Vekk was still getting his bearings on "the Ring". However, he'd certainly improved in getting from a Point A to Point B. Living most of his life underground having to orient himself from subtle clues had significantly helped.

A human walked in front of him with yet another style of dress. Who knew where this one was from.

He narrowed his eyes as the human pointed what must've been a weapon in his direction. He bared his sharp teeth a bit as he warned, "I'd advise you to put down your weapon before I make you put it down, bookah. I have no quarrel with you and don't wish to participate in one if it's not necessary."

Kirk studied the creature. What type was it? He did not lower his weapon but he did not point it toward what he could percieve as a vital region either. "Then tell me who brought me here." Maybe the alien had gotten caught up in this too, but the alien could be what brought him here too.

Vekk scowled in further annoyance. Well, at least the bookah wasn't aiming at his head anymore!

"To be honest, bookah, I have no idea," he answered, crossing his arms. "Whoever our captors are, they seem to be quite shy. Nobody's had the pleasure of meeting our...'hosts'."

The last word was spoken with enough acidic sarcasm to melt a golem.

"Plesant," Kirk returned with a hint of sarcasm. "What's a 'bookah?'" It would be nice to get that straight. A bookah could be ANYTHING and he didn't want some universal incident on his hands in this unfamiliar setting.
