Today we have a long-haired carpenter's mate on a boat. From Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, allow me to present:
Our first sighting of Joe and he's absolutely drenched
The ship's sprung a few leaks and it's our boy's job to wade around in chest-deep water fixing it.
Leak dealt with, Joe's next priority is repairing the figurehead. I have no idea what's going on with the woolly hat but it seems to be his trademark.
My Master & Commander OTP is these two. Look at them! Aren't they adorable?
You just can't repress that instinct to dance. On a table today.
This is absolutely heartbreaking. Joe's boyfriend is on the mast when it collapses. Joe stands on the stern yelling to him to swim for the wreckage and then is ordered to cut the wreckage loose to stop it dragging the ship down.
Kill your best friend/lover, on Captain's orders.
Poor poor Joe.
Cold and damp is adorable.
Cold, damp and tearful is heartbreaking.
Back to work, now with extra gloves.
Bryan being the only one with a shirt on is becoming a bit of a theme. First Blood and Chocolate, now this. Actually, that's probably the other way round but that's the way I watched them. And twice is clearly a theme.
Deliberately bumps Sam's dad.
Apparently, the bump is not the bad bit. He's in trouble because he didn't salute before he bumped him.
First, apparently that's a latex back piece so the whipping can be real and he feels nothing. That doesn't look anything like enough protection from a real cat o'nine tails. Second, look at the sunburn on those forearms! Third, owww!
Sunburn which doesn't look nearly so bad close up.
The most mocking salute............... in the world.
WTF toga?! Ok, I know, it's bandages. But it looks like a toga.
And our boy (leaning against the lifeboat) has a new hat for some reason.
I dislike the woolly hat but now he looks like a cowboy and that's unexpected and weird.
Where's Wally Joe?
After this, there was chaos and death and a lot of blurriness, so we'll end on a frantic dash through the crowds and pretend things ended differently.
