How long did you need to recover. I'm still hurting. the wounds are healing nicely, but I still can't eat much and my liver has become inflamed so I'm still in a lot of pain.
When the doc told me I'd need to have my gall bladder out, he made it sound like I'd bounce back and be totally fine a few days later and ready to return to school. It didn't happen.
I was in a lot of pain for probably 2 weeks afterward (the pain meds didn't make much of a dent) and I remember almost fainting after showering when I finally did get up, shower, and get dressed to go back out into the world in the third week. By the time a month passed I was fully back to normal, but I know that length of recovery time is unusually long.
I've been signed off sick for two weeks, but my two weeks are up on Friday - i think I'm going to ask my doctor for another week. It's wonderful enough not feel the gall bladder pain anymore - looking on the bright side:) I'm glad to hear it does end though - right now it feels like I'm going to be stuck at home forever. Thanks for letting me pick you brain:)

And I can totally commiserate about the gall bladder surgery. I had mine out about 8 years ago and have the scars to prove it. It still sucks.
