As for the religion thing, I'm on the fence. I neither confirm nor deny the existance of God. I think that being a Christian has turned into a very fluid concept. There are so many denominations and versions of the Bible that it's nearly impossible to take it literally. I like to think that if you're a good person with a good heart your reward will be heaven. I think that if there really is a God, he'll love us for who we are instead of hold up bars against us. But that's just my two cents.

I think your beliefs are a good way to go. I'd like to still start going to church, but not necessarily believe EVERYTHING they say immediately. I just want to go and see if it makes me feel closer to God and if not, I can always stop going. And I'll read the Bible and see what I get out of it. I'll just believe the things I learn and read that feel right...you know? When I get that feeling that you kind of described.
