I almost included such a statement in my post, but I was afraid someone would criticize me for kissing my girlfriend in public (although, to be fair to us, it was just a quick peck on the lips, by her car).
I despise homophobics. People like are seriously mentally ill. For one, why should you be afraid of someone's love for another? It doesn't affect you in any way. Someone of the same sex getting married across the globe does not affect your daily life. It's almost like saying someone being disgusted by public acts of affection between people, straight or not. People like that need to get a life.
Very true! My girlfriend and I are not huge practitioners of PDA. At most, we hold hands in public, hug, or exchange a quick peck on the lips (this time, it was a hug and a peck on the lips).
It is amazing and disturbing what many people will tolerate when practiced by a straight couple, as opposed to practiced by a same sex couple.
