Unnatural History sounds intersting; I've put it on my list of books to get. Thanks for the (guarded) recommendation.

Green is much with the striking names in this book;

I'm pretty sure Screwtape and Wormwood were demons in C.S. Lewis' "The Screwtape Letters". That would go along with the Mephisto from the firm of barristers. It's been around 30 years since I read that book, so I'm not certain of this.

My affection for the series goes down as it goes on.

I'm pretty sure Screwtape and Wormwood were demons in C.S. Lewis' "The Screwtape Letters". That would go along with the Mephisto from the firm of barristers. It's been around 30 years since I read that book, so I'm not certain of this.

Yes, Screwtape is writing letters to his, I believe, nephew, Wormwood. I'm pretty sure Green is implying that this is not a law firm to trust. Nothing more is done with it, though.
