I tried to read the first book. But it was boring. And once Edward started sparkling I had to throw it across the room.

I watched the film, though, so I knew the rest of the story, but I found it boring. But I have to watch the next film now. Chris Hyerdahl is in it :(

I've actually thought about this a little bit myself... I think another reason why it's painted as so horrible is because of all the tween girls who are "totally gonna marry Edward!"

Come on though, we did the same thing in middle school with HP. The main Harry Potter fanbase has just grown up. It's had time. Once a few years have gone by, the majority of today's Twilight fans will have matured as well.
