Which is bullshit anyway, because the police have released this oh-so-helpful description of the Utoya shooter: tall, blonde, Nordic-looking male.

My reaction is still in the "But it's Norway, what the hell" section. Seriously, when was the last time Norway did anything that could possibly incite violence?!

Well if you're talking interracial tensions which is what everyone's leaping to, cartoons of Muhammed. I'm trying to remember if they were on the list of increasingly right wing European countries I was reading the other day... but I think I'm just getting really cynical these days in that if I can't think of anything my stance is "when there's been more investigation into this I bet it'll be more clear" or "I guess I don't know enough about this country." I just... have no faith in governments anymore. There's so few of them that aren't actively shitting on people.

From what I understand, Denmark was a major player but Norway agreed with them that it was permissable to publish the cartoons.
