Bow to your partner, now bow to your corner

In a couple hours (at 6pm, to be exact), I will be learning me some square-dancing at Chicago SummerDance. Y'all should come down and join me.

It's in the Spirit of Music Garden, which is part of Grant Park. The nearest train is the Harrison stop (Red line).

It's free.

Also, square dancing is fun.

I suppose it would just be mean to mention our free summer concert series, or our series of weekend neighborhood festivals, or the outdoor movie viewings in the parks, or ...

Sigh. I'm thinking of doing some geocaching, heading home for leftover pasta, and checking out the cancer society benefit walk at the high school (for no good reason, really).

But it's not all bad; tomorrow I have people coming over for board games, and Sunday I'm seeing Hair at the local semi-pro theater.

Dammit! I really meant to get down to SummerDance this year. I'd try to talk Bob into this, but tonight we're going to a going-away party for a friend.

Next Friday, though… we're going to a different going-away party for a different friend. Dammit some more!

Going-away parties don't start until 7 or 8, at least. You should spend your prior couple hours do-si-do'ing. Clearly.

And there's plenty more SummerDance to go. Thursdays-Sundays through the end of August. Don't let that lull you, though, or you'll end up missing it.
