So, very soon now I plan to make a post about how my life is totally insanely busy right now because work is kicking my ass because the fucking Texas state legislature keeps making new laws that ITS manages to turn into WEEKS' worth of more work for me on top of like, the job I am actually supposed to be doing. I have a few guesses as to who wrote it, but man... I'm so out of the loop lately I am probably totally wrong! Whoever you are, though, THANK YOU. Because I think that might be the best holiday exchange fic I've ever gotten :)

Does anyone know if I can combine the gifts so I don't have to pay anything to upgrade back to paid account status?

I'm not sure that's possible. I had a couple of gift certificates last summer when I was renewing my paid status, and they were paltry sums, too but I still couldn't use both. :/

My understanding is that no, you can't combine the gifts. They explained it in the news post, I think, but I was pretty much "blah blah, tl;dr, this is one fuck of a backwards gift" etc.

I still haven't read the winterlive, but fuck I do love her. She is one of my favorites by far. I'm holding off on reading it 'cause I have not one but two post-apoc fics in progress (started before she wrote hers and WILL I EVER FINISH? but I didn't want hers to influence mine, which it so will because she's amazeballs). But it's hard because it tempts me like nothing else. I am so backlogged it's unreal.

I saw him on Saturday :P Jacob has some ideas about slashers that I don't agree with or get and that I argue with him about; he's convinced that I'm the only sane slasher and everyone else are crazypants. But he also has been the object of slashfic before (or the subject?) and he gets a lot of hate mail from Dr Who slashers, so that probably colors his view.

Not that I agree, obviously, but it's his funeral if he wants to mess with slashers :P He's going to get a LOT of hate mail for that comment. And then he's going to be like, "OMG Andrea, what did I do?" And I'm going to be like, "Um, fucked yourself?"

His comment reminds me of the Zookeeper fic I wrote though. Haha.
