nothing to say

Jun 24, 2009 11:33

It's so weird that I feel like I have nothing to say. Instead, I think I will make a few confessions:

1. I totally googled "kris allen mount magazine" to see if I could find pictures of Kris at the monument I built on the high point in Arkansas when I was in AmeriCorps. ( See, here I am building the monument. )

*this* is american idol, jc is made of failcats, homie ain't no hollaback boy

I don't even think J2 are hot anymore, that's how over them I am. I still occasionally think JC is okay looking. But that is fading fast...

I'm not usually this into Idol. Like last season, I didn't even have a favorite, I just hated Archuleta with an intense and fiery passion. This season is a crazy anomaly for me. It's a little scary.

Cheeks? That is Adam Lambert's ex-boyfriend. The one from all the "embarrassing" kissing pictures that Bill O'Reilly got all fussy about. And I kind of love him? And I want him and Adam to get back together? And I creepily get excited when they tweet each other? *facepalm*

3. See, I think I could MAYBE go to the Memphis show, but I'd have to drive. And I think Memphis is like 10 hours away from me. And I don't know anyone who lives there. So it's not REALLY feasible. But I want to goooo.

7. I KNOW RIGHT. But I feel a little weird about obsessing over him because he's not famous in the way of people I normally obsess over. But he's kind of undeniable? And then sometimes I read his more cryptic tweets and pretend they are directed at Adam. Ugh, it's awful! But I'm like so invested in them getting back together. Maybe this is how people feel about OTPs. I've never done that before!

I really can't even believe dry counties still exist. Did you like AmeriCorps? I really want to do Teach for America, which I know is a program of theirs.

I know what you mean about popslash. It was my first fandom, so I still have this warm fuzzy spot for it in my heart, but I have increasingly felt like there's nothing there anymore. Like the pop part of popslash is missing. It's hard to love this, like, bond between them that I feel doesn't even really exist anymore. Headlines like, "Justin Timberlake sells autographed photo for Joey Fatone's charity" (or, you know, other stuff like that) no longer excite me. Because that's so LAME. So I kind of just stopped writing the JuC fic I was writing and put it away and hope that one day I'll be able to finish it, but for now it's just kind of making me sad.

OMG that video is so funny. I've never seen Cheeks before. And I don't know who the other half of Bradam? I'm clearly not paying enough attention.

Americorps was... interesting. It was good AND bad. But I did National Civilian Community Corps, which is very different from Teach for America. I was on a team with 10 other people. We were all under 25, and basically we would get sent from our home base in Charleston, SC, to different community service projects all around the southeast. The projects would be 4-8 weeks long, and they were like... working with an established government agency or non-profit and doing whatever they needed us to do. So I built houses with Habitat in Alabama, and then we did an education project in Charleston public schools, tutoring and also doing some renovation work at the school, we built the monument in Arkansas and did some trail work there (installing water bars and such), we renovated a Y Camp in Georgia, and we helped out at a summer camp in Mississippi. Some of it was amazing and totally worthwhile and I learned a lot. Some of it was terrible and we couldn't figure out why were there and it felt like a waste of taxpayer money. Sometimes ( ... )

"which means I'm seriously astro-screwed"
CHEEKS! How can you not adore that boy. I agree, they totally need to get back together.

I'm going to the AI show in San Diego. Not really a thing I'm proud to admit but it's only for Adam... and Kris. I'll be drinking heavily during the other performances.

God, I feel so much better that I am not alone in the Cheeks thing! What a relief. I don't have to feel so weird about it :P He's just so cute and funny! They so need to get back together. Then I won't feel so weird about following Cheeks on twitter and analyzing his cryptic posts.

Adam and Kris will be like half the show! So at least there's that :P

4. Completely over JC? That just doesn't seem right somehow.
