friday is shiny

Jan 09, 2009 08:24

I used to do a segment thingy on Fridays called "friday is shiny" about gossip news and all the TV I watched throughout the week (which was a LOT of TV), but since that's pretty much all my journal is nowadays, I want to reinstitute friday is shiny with a different theme: Things I Can't Buy Because of the Recession. Sort of a continuation of ( Read more... )

friday is shiny, sesa

Hahaha. Well, sure! I don't think I *usually* make him an asshole. And if I do, I still make him a lovable asshole.

I really like cardigans. I have a weakness for hoodies, but it's like the cardigan is the more tidy and respectable big sister lol. I have a pink one with a little argyle print across the chest that I got from my sister in law that I adore. I like printed ones but I'm not that brave fashion wise and don't like wearing things that might attract attention.

Well, I can't wear hoodies at work, as much as I'd love to. And you know--Texas. I don't have much of a need for cardigans in places that can REGULATE TEMPERATURE, damnit! I love the giraffe one, omg. But... so expensive.

It's really cute, but yeah I don't think I could justify spending that much on something I'll wear for maybe five minutes at a time. If only Texas was a bit cooler or something. This 70 degrees in January is just unnecessary.

I always love when I am watching any Daytime show and they do a fashion show and rave about how cheap something is at $225.
Ummmmm, no that is really flipping expensive to me. I hardly pay more then $40 for anything I wear.

Me too! I mean, if I bought a dress for $225... that's HALF A LAPTOP!! People are so crazy. Or else they spend WAY more on clothes than I think is necessary. I'm pretty sure the world would be a happier place if we all wore uniforms to work and could spend our money on fun clothes for not work.

I read Papa Was A Rodeo again a couple of days ago, and it still makes me feel incredibly sorry for JC and angry with everyone else (except Britney). I wasn't quite as 'No, JC, you fuck 'em all! Do what you want!' as I was in the first beta, but for most of it I still wanted to reach through the monitor and slap the hell out of both Justin and Chris. Btiney at the end definitely pulls it round for me, though. It's an interesting story.

And I try to only ever buy clothes in the sales. Except for tshirts and underwear and stuff. It makes the prices for things almost reasonable, but on the other hand, they've inevitably sold out of *everything* which look good in my size. Except, for some reason, skirts, which I never wear but which I can always find at least one in the shop which looks great.

I think part of the reason I like the fic so much is *because* the people are... not mean, really, but they know what they want and they go after that and they're not assholes about it but they're not perfect, either. I wanted it to be a hard decision. I wanted JC to decide almost in spite of the rest of them wanting it so much. Like, I wanted him to decide that even though he didn't WANT to give this to the other guys (but especially Justin), he wanted it enough for himself that the other shit didn't matter.

I'm not sure how well I got that across though. But you wanting to smack Justin and Chris probably is a good sign :P

I think they are rude and obnoxious and NOT CUTE and they carry diseases like rats and I hate them.

Omg, I love you like breathing!

I will also admit to giggling a little when I read the (because Chris! Is hard!!) part...because he is. But also...diiiiirty, dirty mind. I has one, yes.

I swear, every time I'm around a child, I get sick. They are like disease machines!!

(And Chris IS hard. In whatever way you take it :P)
