I'm kind of approaching this from the opposite angle -- I wanted to friend you, because I like reading your lj and I really enjoy your fiction, and I thought it would be so much easier to make sure any new entries would pop up on my flist rather than having to search them out. But you seem to want actual reciprocal intellectual input from your friends (how high maintenance of you!) and I don't really post in my lj (I'm trying to develop the habit, but it hasn't happened yet), although I have begun commenting fairly frequently in other people's. So I suppose you have made me skittish by the powers of your big brain, or something like that.

Yeah, my deal is kind of... anyone can friend me if they want. But I'm not going to friend people back who I don't know or don't share interests with. I have a lot of friends who never post, but we've talked a lot via comments or whatever, so I'm interested in them as people regardless of fandom, and if they want to share a dialogue with me on LJ, that's awesome. Lurkers are good, too! I don't mind lurkers. I don't want to be intimidating. I don't take shit from people, but I like to think I'm pretty good at listening to opposing viewpoints as long as people are polite about it :)
