First thing I'd do if I were internet dictator of the world? Impose one browser. Not just one browser, but one version of that browser. And all the plug-ins to go with. It may stifle innovation and impede personal choice, but a thousand and one web producers (not to mention their developers) would thank me for it ;)

Some days, with the visual assault I receive from some 'graphically enhanced' websites, I sort of wish that one web browser was Lynx.

and the internetly/computerly challenged would cheer too, no more slick sales people rattling off terms as if 'everybody' knows what each thing is

you'd be astonished how few of those slick people have a clue what they're talking about. I'm not saying they're all sharks.... hmm, actually - if they're being all slick and superior then YES, I'm calling 'em a shark! :P
