Title: Lunatics and Vampires Author: pgrabia Genre: Hurt/comfort; fluffy romance Characters: G. House, J. Wilson Warnings: Spoilers for all seasons up to current (season 8); Rating: Strong PG-13/T
Just what I needed for Christmas - sweetness without adding to the actual sugar overload (we replaced lunch with chocolate pudding, dark chocolate cake and hot chocolate).
House remembering his Hanukkah with Cuddy and Rachel was heartbreaking, he had invested so much in that doomed relationship. The breakup implied also a breakup of his connection with Rachel, and he had obviously come to care for her.
[OT at first I found it weird that Wilson knows how to engage the safety of a gun, but of course he would - we've seen him going shooting after all.]
I can see House throwing in the towel and going out in a grim/spectacular way. I can see Wilson finally compelled by the shock of almost losing House into finally admitting his feelings...and realizing that they are equally screwed up and equally addicted to each other. Only caveat; wiping the prints wouldn't matter, the gun would have been registered to John House and the police would find that out when they ran the serial number...tossing it in the ocean during a "getting to know each other as romantic partners" boat ride would be safer.
Ouch! You are so right about the gun being registered! I totally forgot about that. I live in Canada where people can own a hand gun but it's not that common and I've never owned one myself. I've fired a friends at a firing range but that's how all. Maybe I'll have to right an edited version including such a boat ride if you don't mind me stealing the idea.
