Big grin!!! What a great ending! Interesting how you incorporated the fire into this. Much better final arc resolution than canon. Hope the boys have a great sabbatical and come back ready to get on with their long lives :) Thanks for this wonderful alternative ending!

I also liked how you touched on "happiness must come from within" theme. I think it's true, and when Nolan said it he was correct. Too bad he messed that up in his last session with House. :/

What a wonderful ending! That took some strength, incorporating so much of canon and weaving it with your modified backstory. House dreaming makes much more sense than what canon gave us, and his need to process his fears at the beginning of his new relationship with Wilson is truly believable. As is the fact that he needs to do so in his sleep.

This whole fic was absolutely perfect, and we can still tie it with the final scene of the final episode - the two of them on their way, on motorbikes.

Unfortunately, that line was, indeed, canon, so I can't take credit for it. I barely noticed it while watching the finale and I haven't had the courage to rewatch it yet. Credit for transcribing it goes to the Clinic-Duty community on LJ and of course to the original writers of the episode.

Kind of a hint at what HL would be doing next once House was over, perhaps?
