Excellent story! Loved every moment of it. Sheppard/Atlantis fics are fast becoming my 2nd form of Shep whump out there, but only if written well, and this one is written very well.

Question, a little off topic: do you make your own banner? It's really lovely. Might you be willing or able to make a banner for my LJ? I've wanted one about the size of yours, but with John and Liz front & center, surrounded on either side by Mckay, Teyla and Ronon. It's no biggie if you say no.

there is just something about certain characters that lend themselves so readily to hurt/comfort or as they say in SGA - whumpage ;) - I've been devouring as much ShepWhumpage as I can get my hands on since stumbling into this fandom - heck - I've even found some excellent Thoughtcrimes fic with Brendan whumpage (guess that must mean in this case there is something about Joe Flanigan that lends itself to whumping!)

the muse seems quite pleased with herself at this point and she keeps alternating btwn a really big stick and a whip to keep me working at the keyboard - so with luck it won't be too long before the next installment is ready for the light of day :D

This was great fun! A really nice portrait of John and the Atlantis command staff getting to know each other, before they all found out just how dangerous the Pegasus galaxy was. I can't wait to see more in your series.

I'm glad you enjoyed it - the muse felt that there just had to be more with Sheppard btwn him flying Gen. O'Neill back to McMurdo and the morning of departure for the Pegasus galaxy

and once again the muse has pulle out the big stick and keeps threatening me with it - so we're about halfway done with the next segment

Wonderful fic. I'm newish to SGA fanfic, and I really enjoyed the backstory on what might have happened to John between Antartica and when they stepped thru the gate. I'll be keeping an eye out for more of the series!
