i only found a way to deactivate my facebook account. can you please tell me if there is a way to delete it, other than emailing them and asking pretty please?

The approach Simon Batistoni took was to nuke all his friendships first (note that this takes 3*contacts clicks), then accept that he had a dormant account.

(Does the API let you renounce relationships? Is there a market for an app to remove yourself from Facebook? Isn't this entire chain of thought kind of perverse?)

wow, that post is what i wanted to write.

as far as i can tell, he didn't manage to delete his account even after deleting all the connections (i already deactivated mine, but i want to delete it properly).

it took me 4 days.

email. wait. delete all friends. delete. every. single. detail. i. had. changed. that really means everything, i had to blank my profile. then email again.

are they running a version of oracle without delete?

Well, that would be a bit silly. Leaving because you're being "bombarded with the constant “Zombie requests”, Quiz requests, “rate your movies” requests and other effluvia which, post-trumpeted-API-launch, have become a veritable Face-tsunami" is a better reason, though, right?

1. you don't know if that's the reason why i want to delete my account
2. even if it were, why the hate? are your reasons "better" than other's? and what's wrong with that specific reason? can you elaborate?
