Pardon me for being paranoid but take it easy with the eyes after surgery. My neighbor just went in for emergency surgery a month after having his done because it...tore...open. Medical terminology would help right now but is failing miserabley... cornea I believe.

No more sexy glasses for Patrick??? This makes me sad ;)

Congrats, now take it easy.

Hmm... I'm not sure how well I'd handle being deaf, being such a music lover, but I think it would be much easier to deal with than going blind. Especially as an artist >_

Huh. My mom had it done about a year ago, and I think she said something like, "it was interesting." Followed 2 seconds later by, "I CAN SEE!!!!!!!!" She'd worn glasses since she was like 5. :)

Your mother's much more stoic than I am. I wouldn't describe the procedure as "interesting." The words I'd use to describe it would be "eeeeeeeyaaaaaagh eew eeeeew AAAAAAAGH!" Or something to that effect.

That being said, 20/20 vision is a truly miraculous thing, especially if you've been nearsighted your whole life.

For example: I've lived in my current house for ten years and never realized I could stand in my front yard and see San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. (Before I saw only a bluish horizon limned in haze.) In fact, not only can I see San Francisco, I can see individual windows on the Transamerica building. I can see little houses dotting the shores of Marin. I can see boats on the Bay It's truly amazing!

I don't know him though, but he is definitely insanely talented. I happened to stumble upon his Easter Bunny art, that's why I added him.

I don't look like I've been punched in the eye, but I sure feel like it today.

I was sorta hoping there might be a freak accident during the operation which would transform me into a supervillain, but no such luck.
