You could downgrade the OS and Office version to Windows XP sp2 and Office XP or office 2003.

My Understanding is that if you own a license to an OS and Application from microsoft then your allowed to downgrade to the equivilent version.

So you COULD downgrade to Windows XP and office 2003.

Ahh Buggrit. Sorry.. I misled you. I just checked and found out that its not for individual licensing. Only for Volume Licensing.

You MAY be able to downgrade your OS depending on how you got the laptop and from where. Talk to the PC suppliers.

Thanks. Looks like I can't downgrade Vista, but I can downgrade Office if I really can't work with it. I'll give it a bit more time to get used to it, but it's great to know there is a solution if it's all too hard :o)

The RTF standard was invented in-house by Microsoft, so it's likely that any problems you have with images will be reduced if you make sure the images are in Windows Bitmap format (.BMP files). That's just a guess based on years of experience, though, and my experience also tells me that you can never be sure when some new wrinkle might appear to invalidate all previous experience...
