The dreams, however, only partially contributed to Reid being in a particularly foul mood on his fourth day of incarceration in Oakdale.  When he had not been dreaming of Luke’s voice, he would wake to the image of Luke Snyder’s bare chest.  His lack of control annoyed him endlessly.  Not only was he thinking about it while he was ( Read more... )

I like how Reid keeps insisting he doesn't remember anything and before, how he stated it was doubtful his memory would return and yet ... he keeps remembering things, snippets in dreams? He's being stubborn and resistant. I wonder what would happen if he actively decided he *wanted* to remember.

He's definitely being stubborn. I don't totally blame him since he's only known Luke for a little over a week at this point, and Luke did drag him to Oakdale against his will. Plus, what he does remember (or hear in his sleep) is always so negative and has been for years. I could see where it might set him against Luke a little. But still, I'll be glad when I get to the point in my story where Reid's a little less stubborn and a little more willing to cooperate.

I felt so bad for Luke when Reid threw the box away. I am glad he still isn't giving up. I loved how you incorporated the Sistine Chapel article into the story.

Thanks! I felt bad writing that scene. I don't think Reid would have done it if he had thought a bit more about it beforehand. But, once he committed to it, he wasn't going back.
I almost ended the chapter on the box scene, but I couldn't stomach it.
