Reid had been so engrossed in Luke that he had no idea how long Alec had even been standing there.

“I hope I’m not intruding,” said Alec.  It took all Reid’s will power to refrain from saying, “Of course you do.”

“Who’s your friend?” asked Alec.

Oh Christ, he’s going to try to pretend he doesn’t

OHHHH how exciting ... I can't wait to see what Luke has up his Grimaldi sleeve. Reid/Jude is going to be on pins and needles waiting and hoping, I think, for whatever plan Luke has got going on.

Wow, that is completely true to their characters. Reid being cold, rational and self-sufficient -- Luke talking about family, getting all fired up and obsessive, not taking no for an answer. I love reading a writer who has Reid's voice down like this. :)

Just have Luke start calling Reid Rude since he doesn't want to call him Jude and have him explain to Reid how it combines his names and his personality, lmao.

I'm addicted to this story. I like that I am unsure what will happen next.

Luke slowly made an obvious examination of Alec, perusing him from his brown leather shoes to the top of his blonde head. Then, smiling mischievously, he turned toward Reid and said, “Nice taste, but I wouldn’t have thought you’d turn me in for an older model.”

Good way to get Reid's interest :)

Reid is really shut down emotionally which is logical after all that he's been through. It's interesting seeing that old clash of emotional Luke and seemingly non-emotional Reid.

Luke's outburst is understandable when Reid refuses to acknowledge the people who love him but he sounds threatening and Reid already has to be insecure knowing that someone arranged his new life. But I'm thoroughly enjoying the storytelling.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure there is a part of Reid that *likes* to be threatened. :P Or at least is intrigued by anyone with the balls to do it.

Reid does seem to be able to overlook and possibly even like the more "Luciano Grimaldi" side of Reid.

I'm glad you're enjoying the story still. I tried hard to take Luke from interacting nearly perfectly with Reid to ending in near disaster. Luke may be feeling a bit of remorse later.
